The Suring Sportsman’s Club is closed from 12/1/2025 to 12/11/2025!

We started out with sunshine and cool breezes for this year’s Youth Outdoor Fun Day. It was a very fun and enjoyable day for all.
The kids were able to go fishing in the trout tank and bring home the fish they caught.

~
They learned gun safety and how to shoot .22 pistols with Oconto County Sheriff’s Deputies.

~
The archery range was very busy with kids learning how to shoot a bow and arrow at a target. Look at all of those bullseyes!!

~
Clay target shooting was learned using a couple of different shotgun sizes.

~
There was fly fishing instruction, as well as bait casting education. A fishing game was just the thing for the little ones.

It was a fun and enjoyable day for all!

The day started with high winds and thick, cloudy skies, but after everything was set up and ready, people arrived and the sausage shoot began! Gary Hischke was cooking hamburgers and brats, Lennie Madison was setting up things with Jay Tousey and Kurt Bruegl. Bill Madison and Gary H. took care of selling the tickets for the shoot and registering the winners.
Two younger kids, Johnny Shepherd (below) and Carson Lambrecht (next pair of photos) were our champions for the day, with Johnny winning a grand total of 10 sausages.

The next 2 photos are of Carson who shot the string for a grand total of 5 sausages, using a .22 rifle with scope.

Below: Carson Lambrecht and Johnny Shepherd with Johnny’s dad, Jamie; Carson and Johnny with both their dads; Jonny with Jay Tousey; Carson with Jay Tousey, and Jeff Foral holding the sausage he shot the string on and his sausage coupon.

The following photos are of all of the adult shooters who won sausages. They’re names are: Jason Trester, 1 sausage; Michael Schmidt, 1 sausage; Jamie Shepherd, 1 sausage; Rich DeJardin, 2 sausages; and Trenton K., 1 sausage.
